The first Ironman 70.3 triathlon held in Turkey ended with victory for two Belgian athletes: VanLierde Frederik and Alexandra Tondeur won first place in men’s and women’s, respectively.

In the men’s competition, VanLierde Frederik completed the race with a time of 3:53:48, followed by Paul Schuster with 3:57:53; German Patrick Lange came in third place with 3:59:50.

For the women’s race, Alexandra Tondeur won with a time of 4:26:39, followed by Spain’s Gurutze Frades at 4:28:41 and Caroline Livesey from the United Kingdom with 4:34:34.

Held since 2006, the Ironman competition covers a total of 70.3 miles (113.0 km), divided between swimming, cycling, and running portions.
